I was wrong and sorry for being so

In the past I did not think a Casino in Kenosha was a good thing, did not buy into the idea of being a job creator for good paying long term employment nor did I believe that the City of Racine benefit from this being built.

I still do not, I was wrong in not understanding how much better it would have been for the Casino to pay for The Bucks Arena then the Wisconsin tax payer, as I understand the Casino offered to do (pay for the Arena) also the State and City/County of Kenosha would have did well off the taxes  from the math challenged.

My understanding is that the Casino is dead and gone but this is Wisconsin and we do whore our self to the right type of big business so time will tell

Next time this idea comes up I will be behind it.

Just say no!

Now that the election is over, there will be a renewed call for Governor Walker

to let a Casino open near the city of Kenosha since the out of State Tribe needs State permission to do so and many elected officials are screaming for it   (Gee think Campaign donations made have been made? perhaps gifts given?? not like that has ever happened   but wait

But lets not talk about that

Nor let us talk about how some of the construction jobs may pay well as the buildings are going up but the vast number of jobs will be service type jobs many even paying minimum wage other games too will go down the TIF game the BID game and Good Old Boys will find ways to get money.

Our Mayor John Dickert likes the idea so I am thinking Marble will be needed right? Where will that come from?

IMHO we have Casinos galore do we need more? Do we need an out of State Tribe building one?

I think not.

Good News Racine!

I just know that the good old boys will love this!!

Changed the name of Real Racine News to something far more focused to Racine and well closer to what many see as going on in the great city!

What might that be? Well that would be:

Racine crime syndicate/ DBA/city of Racine!!

Yes!! Why not ?

We got RICO We got Ethics issues!!  We have dishonest political leaders!!  Thank God we do not a real mob outfit or do we?

From the Facebook page:  Going to look into the workings of both the City and County of Racine WI.
A lot of money is being spent in a city with high unemployment.
We will look at what projects is getting this money and who is making bank.
Who might be the old old boys and power brokers in the area

From The Casino to the Root River we got it all.

Are you not proud of the leadership over the last few years that got us to this point?

Cue Music

Route Red 00

What am I talking about?

Easy, I think as the Casino gets going we will see a new Bus route come into existence to make sure all the City of Racine Workers can get to the jobs that will be paying them so much!

This route will have one or two stops on the North side of tow, the Transit Center two stops on the South side then UW Parkside  then the Casino.

This again will be sold as a jobs requirement I see the Casino picking up say 50% Parkside say 30%, the County a bit the rest from the City of Racine, if I am right in my guess and I think I will be, the back story is that all efforts will be made to make sure that every Mother’s son who wants to lose $$ at the Casino can. Why?

That’s easy every Penney spend on building this (Casino) will come from those silly enough to think that Gambling is an sure way out from the Poverty of Racine (The Racine of Mayor John Dickert). The Casino will know almost to the penny how much $$ comes from the Poor of Racine.

Take the time to research on line the types of  folks who gamble, if you  cant do that just vist one of the many places in Racine and see who is  playing the Slot Machines.

Do you think Mayor Dickeret cares at all that the Poor  will be used to make $$ off?  Well I think not after all the only use he has for them, is to vote Democratic, he might as well rent them out for other uses.

Do not worry! The Casino will invest the $$ made in Downtown Racine right?

And yet

Some may think I do not want the Casino to come to Kenosha  that would be untrue,

I do want us to think about what it may mean to  the area and try to slow the hysteria on how the Casino will fix all issues in S.E. Wisconsin and give everyone a job.

That being said its free will If folks want to spend the $$ I say go for it.

Better yet go for a job if you need one or want to work a part time gig, see what the Casino’s needs might be and go for that too.  I recall when Ho-Chunk opened many of the fools who gave me a hard time for being Native (Little did we know…) somehow thought they were Native too!

Perhaps some training at Gateway could prepare you for a job opening!

Downtown Stores might want to move to that area to avoid the painful death I think is coming to Racine’s Downtown

Now I think there are opportunities for self employment. From starting a Van service taking folks to the Casino to escorting big winners to the Bank.   Please see local laws before starting any Businesses INHO Kenosha will be more easier to work with then Racine, but time will tell.

Still a lot to talk about with this and I will but again its up to them if they like to go for it

Casino Kills Downtown Racine Editorial

BOR

The Downtown Racine will die with the Casino, it will be dead dead dead  and well they I think have it coming see, the Casino will not care if your Black, White, Hispanic, or from the Root River.

All the Casino wants, is you to spend your money gaming.  At the Casino you will be safe, no one will bother you for say being the wrong color.  Best, the Casino will not take you for granted, I feel they will go beyond the call of duty to earn and keep your business.

The Casino will offer good places to eat, and a new up to date entertainment center. (How much $$ with the Civic Center in Racine ask the City of Racine for to try and compete?  IMHO the civic center gets paid back for all the poor service over the years.

Every dollar spent at the Casino is one that that will not be spent Downtown.  I feel that the Casino will become a go to place easy to get to and one that is welcoming to any that walk in the door.

Want to go out? Want to see a top ten act lets go to the Casino and have some fun.

Mind you the Boaters “May” keep parts of Downtown alive but what happens the first Winter?  How will the County ever pay off Reef Point?

There is no stemming the tide, Is Mayor Dickert going to charge a tax to go to Kenoshsa?

Interesting too is will Casino cause more in this area to move to Kenosha then into Porter’s? Will stores want to open in a dead Downtown?  Will you want to go to the Downtown or the Casino?  Will the area around the Casino as it builds  up (and it will) draw down what little life is in the Downtown?

As I see it, 3 years after this opens Downtown Racine blows away.  I wonder if they will understand why?

Of course your going to win

How do Casinos make $$ is is with the Mob taking it at gun point?

BS

No you be giving to them willingly.

Under Arrest?

They make money from the odds of you wining a game of chance and you not knowing the odds, for if you did would you come in?

From http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/money/consumer/dont_waste_your_money/before-you-go-gambling-the-best-and-worst-casino-game-odds

Bean said your next stop should be the Roulette wheel. It’s simple, and pays fairly well.

“So you bet on your favorite numbers,” Bean said. “The dealer spins, and if your number comes in you win.”

If you stick to betting on just Reds or Blacks, you have nearly a 50-50 chance of walking away a winner. If it lands on red when you choose red, you will double your bet, Bean explained.

While it may seem you have an even chance of winning by simply choosing a color, there is one catch that gives the house its edge: the extra green 0 and 00 position on the wheel. It’s on all American roulette wheels.

Or, if you feel lucky, play just one number. It’s hard to win, but if you do it pays out 36 to 1.

That’s just Roulette The story above talks about most of the table games to make a long story short

“Play it long enough and you will lose. In the long term the house doesn’t lose,” Magazine said.

from the story above.
Now the house wants you inside as long as possible longer you stay the longer you play the more $$ they win.  They know the odds, they know gamblers and they do not play games. They know how the mind works here is an example from  http://listverse.com/2010/02/09/10-tricks-casinos-use-on-you/

“Ever notice how the lighting in a casino is low and mellow? This is to give it a homey, friendly feel, kind of like sitting on your couch in your living room at home – and who wants to get off of their comfortable couch? Harsh lighting can be grating to the eyes, but a more subdued motif allows gamblers to settle in, kick back, and enjoy themselves while feeling safe, secure, and cozy.

Also, the carpeting in casinos isn’t just picked out randomly. Many may say that the patterns and designs on these carpets are downright tacky, with colorful swirls, lines, and splashes being the norm. However, to the human brain they are mesmerizing, welcoming and pleasing to the eye. In addition, the color of the walls is often times red which studies say evokes a safe, comfortable feeling.

And like shopping malls and stores, the soundtracks played at casinos are always soft, easing, and mollifying which helps get the gambler in the trance-like state that is desired.

Related to this category is the cleanliness of casinos. Any reputable one will be spotless with no clutter or waste in sight. Workers continually sweep and pick up after players which makes them feel somewhat pampered and catered to, as well as gives them a pleasing environment in which they want to stay.”

They are not here to be nice they are here to make money.  IMHO every Dime that the Casino spends here will come out of the pockets of the fools who walk in thinking they will win.

Sorry
