Does Our Mayor Lobby for Racine or Others?

Myself, I think that the fist and most critical job of any Mayor of any City,Town or Village, is to lobby for the community s/he serves be it, the  residents who live there, Companies that operate you know those he severs in office right? That depending on the size of that community this could take up a large amount of time.

Hell, using the example of Racine, the job of Mayor could take up 40+ each week if not more. With the issues of Racine from unemployment, falling property values to the Heroin plague that’s effecting the whole State of Wisconsin, I would think that our Mayor John Dickert would be so busy at his job as Mayor that he have little time for anything else.

JDnaziOur Mayor!

Well I be wrong on both counts!

You see MAYOR JOHN DICKERT WORKS FOR A LOBBYING FIRM! See look here:    That’s him!   Mr. Dickert is a Senior Adviser must be nice

The Comany’s Web page said this about themself’s

and this about our Mayor the One we pay to run this city “Mr. Dickert is a Senior Advisor to the Heartland Solutions Group and is currently serving in his second term as Mayor of Racine, Wisconsin. He has served on the Government Affairs Team at the law firm of Foley & Lardner and is the former Director of Government Affairs for the Wisconsin Credit Union League.

Mr. Dickert has also held a variety of positions in the offices of U.S. Representative Peter Barca (D-WI) and U.S. Representative Les Aspin (D-WI). Additionally, he has worked for both Republicans and Democrats in the Wisconsin State Assembly, staffing both the Joint Finance Committee on the State budget and the Ways and Means Committee on taxation.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, a partnership between 70 mayors and other local officials in the U.S. and Canada dedicated to protecting and restoring the Great Lakes. Mr. Dickert has also been appointed as Vice Chair to the United States Conference of Mayors’ Metro Economies Committee, serves on the Mayors’ Water Council, and is the first President of the newly-created Urban Alliance of the League of Wisconsin Municipalities.”

Must be nice to work as a lobbyist something he has done before.

I thought he was working for us you know the Tax payers who pay his wages, who have seen taxes go up up up and unemployment follow.  Mind you if he needed the cash for Xmas gifs and got a job Bar tending or wrote books on politics I have no issues heck, I am writing or trying to Ebooks, many do. More power to him but this?

We have questions like:

Is he use City Staff or Equipment for this

How many hours a week is he doing this, must the City Administrator or others cover for the Mayor as he does Lobbying?

Since he is Mayor 24/7 and get say in a Car Crash on the way to a Lobbing event are we liable to pay for that?

Can he Lobby at a City event? If he goes to D.C. to a Mayor’s event can he Lobby at that? Might he be Lobbing at those events or saying he is? Are we paying him to Lobby for others?

Are there conflicts of interest in his Lobbing? What groups  or issues is he lobby for? Do we the residents of Racine want him to lobby on the issues or for those groups?

Oh the questions!

Model Municipal Fertilizer Ordinance

Racine (WI) Mayor John Dickert and Barrington Lake (IL) Mayor Kevin Richardson updated the mayors on their work to translate a fertilizer application best practice policy adopted by the Conference of Mayors into a practical local ordinance in Racine. This effort builds on previous work Richardson has completed in Illinois where he was able to bring all of the parties together and work out a policy approach that is protective of water quality, protects vulnerable habitats, includes applicator training up to best practices levels, and provides for penalties for failure to comply.

Since there are many parties that contribute to non-point nutrient contamination of waterways, but are not held responsible, the process that Richardson and Dickert are developing helps to reconcile competing interests within the community, but also allows for non-jurisdictional non-point source emitters to engage in solution discussions.

The effort in Racine is near completion, and the mayors may be reached by e-mail at: or

Richardson Is the head of Hartland this is what the web page said “Mr. Richardson is the President of the Heartland Solutions Group and a veteran corporate Government & Public Affairs executive. He has served as the Senior Vice President of Government Affairs for The ServiceMaster Company, Vice President of Government Relations for R.R. Donnelley, and Vice President of Government and Member Relations for the Electronic Industries Association. He is also the former Associate Counsel to the Subcommittee on Administrative Law of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee and the former Assistant PAC Director of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Mr. Richardson is the elected Mayor of the Village of Lake Barrington, Illinois and is a member of both the Board of Visitors of the Graduate School of Public Policy at Pepperdine University and the Advisory Board of the Institute for Latino Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

His civic and professional involvement includes his service on the Board of Directors of the Chicago-area Metropolitan Planning Council, the Public Affairs Council, and the Public Affairs Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. In addition, he is also the co-chair of the Lake County (Illinois) Water Supply Advisory Committee and is a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors’ Water Council.”

WOW Was this done to help Service Master?

Are there scams now that will help them get $$ from RootWorks?

  1. Mr. Racine says:

Can the residents of Racine get their money back NOW! from this two-timing moon-lighting LIAR!

Journal Times Editorial: Dickert is mayor 24/7, so city was right to pay legal fees

WHAT? Who is on that lying’ Editorial Board?

Last February, when Racine Mayor John Dickert was on a radio show talking about city programs, he probably shouldn’t have said what he did about a former neighborhood stabilization employee.

But hindsight is 20/20, and there is no going back.

Dickert’s statement ended up costing the city $100,000 in legal fees. That’s in addition to settlement costs, if any, which haven’t been disclosed.

It’s a steep price to pay for misspeaking, and it has rightfully stirred up some of the mayor’s critics.

But the city made the right decision in paying the legal fees.

The mayor is the mayor 24 hours a day, seven days a week. He can’t put on the hat of mayor one moment and that of a private citizen the next.

How exactly would aldermen determine which role he was in at any given moment?

    HOW EXACTLY – Indeed!

  2. John Dickert has a number of questions to answer. He cannot hide from his duty as a public official because as mayor he still answers to the residents of his Racine community. And we are waiting. This isn’t a popcorn operation John Dickert has for his second job. Conflicts of interest, conflicting party affiliations, overreaching authority. You can run but you cannot hide.

    • Sadly he will try The Jounal Times will cover for him, as of now I am banned from posting WRJN will not say a world.
I wrote EVERY Alderman an Email or talked to them by phone only two were upset by this.
The Mayor just might be able to get away with this

      • R.L.D. says:

All they need to do is simply ask questions and get more information about his other positions, so that they at least know the facts involved. It sounds like none of them were even aware of it at all? If there is a conflict of interest, then it can be looked into further, and they just need a record of any meetings, correspondence, contracts, payments, and expenses. His emails and phone records should be made available.

If he is mayor 24/7, then he can’t be doing two jobs at once. If he is not mayor 24/7, and has other jobs, then he should pay his own legal fees accordingly.

Why would you be banned from the Journal Times? I enjoy reading your comments. Google “web proxy service” if nothing else. Keep up the good work – you and Exposed are the best reporters in town!

  3. Lizzy Borden says:

“I do not fight fascists because I will win. I fight fascists because they are fascists…”

    -Chris Hedges

“Friedrich Nietzsche in “Beyond Good and Evil” holds that only a few people have the fortitude to look in times of distress into what he calls the molten pit of human reality. Most studiously ignore the pit. Artists and philosophers, for Nietzsche, are consumed, however, by an insatiable curiosity, a quest for truth and desire for meaning. They venture down into the bowels of the molten pit. They get as close as they can before the flames and heat drive them back. This intellectual and moral honesty, Nietzsche wrote, comes with a cost. Those singed by the fire of reality become “burnt children,” he wrote, eternal orphans in empires of illusion.

Decayed civilizations always make war on independent intellectual inquiry, art and culture for this reason. They do not want the masses to look into the pit. They condemn and vilify the “burnt people”—Noam Chomsky, Ralph Nader, Cornel West. They feed the human addiction for illusion, happiness and hope. They peddle the fantasy of eternal material progress. They urge us to build images of ourselves to worship. They insist—and this is the argument of globalization—that our voyage is, after all, decreed by natural law. We have surrendered our lives to corporate forces that ultimately serve systems of death. We ignore and belittle the cries of the burnt people. And, if we do not swiftly and radically reconfigure our relationship to each other and the ecosystem, microbes look set to inherit the earth.”

The Mayor and his lap dogs are Fascists! Resistance and exposing them is a moral duty.

  4. Lying John says:

Here is the problem, and I mean this with all due respect, the aldermen are too dumb to do anything about it, and by that I mean they just don’t know WHAT to do. Some don’t think there is a problem, and some are just in denial about issues such as this, and unemployemnt and high taxes, and terrible home assesments, and lawsuits and high taxes and loss of services, and corruption, etc… so basically, they don’t know what to do about all of the important stuff that affects the community, US! They can’t possibly be that dumb to not know the problems facing Racine, they just simply don’t know what to do, no plan, no action, followers of a failed leadership that just keep failing at everything, rather than stand up and demand change, question authority, speak out about the injustice that is occuring daily, it’s much easier for the aldermen to just keep quiet and go along with what they are told, QA Shakoor, Helding, Terry McCarthy, Wiser, Kaplan, DeHahn, Hart, these are all perfect displays of “Do as your told, and don’t ask questions” while the community suffers. I have the distinct feeling the wheels are now coming off and all hell is beginning to unravel within city hall, it’s only a matter of time now, it’s sad for Racine and it’s residents whats happening at city hall and I too believe it’s criminal.

    • I refuse to believe that Companies like J-W or even the County have not talked to economists about what is going on and will go on.
If not they are fools, worse I hope in God’s name the Aldermen have started talking among themselfs (within the law of course) mind you I have talked to some who do not even know what powers they have I hope the City Attorney would tell them when they take office

  5. Nietzsche’s intellectual and moral honesty takes me to Native American culture, philosophy, trail blazing and the philosophy of John Trudell (a/k/a Johnny Lobo). This Johnny Lobo/John Trudell walks the talk and advocates non cooperation. Containment is at the heart of the control of the plunderers and the corralling includes keeping the mind contained and the body burned and starved. What does this tower of power fear most? THE CLEAR THINKING HUMAN BEING. 19th century America and its mania for owning land and making money perverts the US Constitution.
Indigenous sovereignty of inconvenient in this hierarchy system of today. William Brown of Ogichidaa Mawansomag cannot even get a sit down with this Mayor of ours because our mayor is too busy….too busy, too rude, too arrogant, too busy for clear thought and too above the law.
